Overheat Warning Light and Compressor Cut-Out

Before performing electrical tests, see test conditions.

USE THE FOLLOWING TOOLS WHEN TROUBLESHOOTING THE CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM:
- Hand vacuum pump (US 8026 or equivalent).
- Digital multimeter (US 1119 or equivalent).
- LED test light (US 1115, VAG 1527a or equivalent).
- Auxiliary test set (VW 1594 or equivalent).
- Digital potentiometer (VAG 1630 or equivalent).

TEST CONDITIONS:
- Fuses OK (check according to wiring diagram).
- Ambient temperature above 10°C (50°F).
- Engine at normal operating temperature.
- Vehicle not parked in direct sunlight.

NOTE: The A/C compressor is switched OFF via the instrument cluster when coolant temperature is too high.
