This Technical Bulletin supersedes Technical Bulletin, Group 92, # 91-01 dated March 29, 1991.


Headlight wiper motors supplied by the Parts Department come with a three-point connector. Vehicles produced before VIN: 44-LN 039 426 may have a headlight wiper motor with a four-point connector. On these cars, the wire connector must be changed from a four-point to a three-point when replacing the headlight wiper motor.

Connector housing, locking clips (2) and rubber grommet.

Part numbers are for reference only. Always check with your Parts Dept. for latest information.


Note

The headlight wiper motor part number has been superseded from a B suffix (four-point connector) to a C suffix (three-point connector). If wiper motor "B" is ordered, wiper motor "C" will be shipped along with connector kit Part No. 813 972 927. However, if wiper "C" is ordered, only the wiper motor will be sent.

^ remove headlight wiper motor

^ remove locking clip and rubber grommet from rear of headlight wiper motor connector

^ using a small screwdriver or similar tool, remove wire connectors from connector housing

^ cut connectors from wires at crimp area

^ remove wires from rubber grommet

^ tape end of Blue/Red wire (if equipped) and position out of way





^ insert remaining wires into new rubber grommet at positions shown

* start wires from flat side of grommet and push through to other side

^ strip 7 mm (1/4 in.) of insulation from ends of wires and properly crimp wire connector Part No. N 904 218.02 onto each wire (three connectors necessary)





^ install wire connectors into connector housing at positions indicated (front of connector shown)

* tabs on connectors must lock into housing

^ slide rubber grommet into connector housing and push in until fully seated

Note

Two locking clips are supplied in the connector kit. Use only the locking clip without the four legs.

^ install locking clip (without legs) over end of connector housing


^ install headlight wiper motor

^ attach wiper motor connector

^ secure wiring harness with tie-wrap

* Wires must be clear of moving parts

^ check wiper motor operation
