Refrigerant: Service and Repair
CAUTION:Do not leave the A/C system open for a long period of time. Prolonged exposure to the air will contaminate the system and will require the replacement of certain A/C components (restrictor, accumulator, etc.).
1. Close both valves on A/C manifold gauge set, then connect hose 1 from low pressure gauge to low pressure service valve on compressor.
2. Remove A/C refrigerant high pressure cut-out switch -F118- (red housing) in A/C line between condenser and compressor to disconnect power supply from compressor clutch. This will prevent damage to system if compressor is accidentally switched ON with refrigerant system discharged.
3. Connect hose 3 from high pressure gauge to high pressure service valve located in A/C line between condenser and compressor, then the manifold gauge hose 2 to inlet connection 4 on refrigerant recovery/recycling unit 5.
4. Follow refrigerant recovery/recycling unit manufacturer's instructions to discharge A/C system into recovery/recycling unit.
5. Close manifold gauge valves when refrigerant is fully discharged.
