Clockspring Assembly / Spiral Cable: Service and Repair

Removal of Spiral Spring

Note: When removing or installing spring, wheels must be in straight ahead position.

1. Disarm airbag system. Service and Repair
- Disconnect battery ground cable and cover negative terminal during work on airbag unit.
- Disconnect connector for voltage supply.

2. Remove airbag unit and steering wheel.




3. Remove screws, (arrows)

4. Disconnect lock plate A




5. Disconnect electrical connector.

6. Remove spiral spring from back.

Note: Do not twist spring after removal.

7. Reverse procedure to install.
