Connecting VAG 1598 Pin Out Box

Connecting to transmission control unit

- Switch off ignition.

Left Underdash Panel:

- Disconnect covering under dash panel insert (arrows).

Left Heating Duct:

- Remove heating duct for left footwell by removing right bolt and loosening left bolt (arrows).

- Unclip footwell light and push through opening.

Control Module Support:

- Remove ECM and TCM supports (arrows).

Disconnecting Control Modules:

- Release and remove connector (arrows) from TCM (lower control module).

- Connect VAG 1598 using adapter cable VAG 1598/5 between plug on transmission wiring harness and TCM.

Note: Do not disconnect connector from Motronic control module.
