Subject: Front brake caliper changes


Model(s): V8 Quattro/200 Quattro 20V 1991 m.y. from VIN: LN 102 679





Beginning with VIN: LN 102 679 revised front brake calipers are installed in production.

Parts for the repair of earlier vehicles will remain available.

The following parts of the caliper assembly have been revised.

1 Caliper - hole for brake line connection
relocated

2 Brake line

3 Bracket for brake line

4 Hex head bolt - torque to 25 N-m (18 ft.lb.)

5 Brake pad wear indicator wire -
revised length, revised terminal connector, ty-wrap added for fastening to bracket





When replacing brake pads note the following changes for disconnecting the wear indicator wire:


^ push spring in (left arrow) and pull harness connector upward (right arrow) to disconnect





^ carefully pry locking tab at lower part of connector (lower arrow) downward with screwdriver and turn connector 90, left or right (upper arrow) to remove
