Valve body, removing/installing Transmission wiring harness, replacing
Models:
Audi 100 Quattro with "01F" automatic transmission
(m.y. 1992 and later)
Valve body, removing/installing
Removing
loosen 8-point connector (arrow 1) by turning bayonet lock counter-clockwise
^ disconnect connector from transmission loosen nut (arrow 2)
remove drain plug 1 and drain ATF
^ disconnect ATF filler tube 3 from oil pan
^ detach bracket 2 for ATF line
^ remove oil pan mounting nuts with spacers (arrows), and remove oil pan
A remove mounting bolts (arrows) and oil strainer
remove valve body mounting bolts (arrows)
^ remove valve body along with wiring harness
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:
^ always replace O-rings for the following components:
^ drain plug for ATF oil pan
^ ATF filler tube (lubricate new O-ring with ATF)
^ oil strainer
^ wiring harness
note the following when installing valve body:
^ selector slide (arrow) must be hooked into detent disc
^ multi-function switch must be in PARK
^ tighten valve body mounting bolts in sequence, starting from the inside
^ always replace oil pan gasket
^ be sure that magnets for capturing metal particles are in place before installing oil pan
^ refill transmission with ATF to specifications (see Repair Group 00 in 01F transmission book)
Tightening torques
Valve body to transmission 8 N-m
(70 in.lb. or 81 cm kg)
Oil strainer to valve body 8 N-m
(70 in.lb or 81 cm kg)
Oil pan to transmission 6 N-m
(53 in.lb or 61 cm kg)
Drain plug to oil pan 40 N-m (30 ft.lb.)
ATF filler tube to oil pan 40 N-m (30 ft.lb.)
ATF filler tube to transmission 25 N-m (18 ft.lb.)
ATF line retainer to transmission 8 N-m
(70 in.lb.or 81 cm kg)
Nuts retaining wiring harness to
transmission 20 N-m (15 ft.lb.)
Transmission wiring harness, replacing
^ remove valve body, as described previously
^ disconnect connectors at solenoid valves
remove wiring harness from bracket (arrows)
^ install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:
^ replace O-ring on 8-point connector
