Board Computer, Range Calibration

Set range calibration ONLY after replacing the board computer (printed circuit).

Note

The board computer calculates fuel consumption based on 10 I/100 km regardless if the computer display is in US or metric measurement units.





^ switch ignition OFF

^ remove connector (arrow) from fuel gauge sending unit





^ using jumper wires, connect test unit VW 1301 to fuel gauge sending unit connector as shown
^ set test unit VW 1301 to 250
^ press and hold RESET button
^ switch ignition ON








^ release RESET button
^ display must read approximately 80

If NO,
^ adjust range calibration as follows:

CAUTION

Range calibration screw can only be turned 1/2 turn between stops.

^ remove instrument cluster trim

^ insert a small flat blade screwdriver
(100 mm long, 2 mm blade diameter) and
turn adjusting screw A
^ recheck range calibration
