Correct Engine Oil Fill Level
Model(s):
All 100 M.Y. 1992
This Bulletin supersedes Technical Bulletin, Group 17, # 91-01 dated 10/25/91.
This bulletin addresses the proper oil fill level on the oil dipstick.
To get the true reading engine must be at operating temperature and on level ground.
After turning off engine, wait a few minutes for the oil to return to the oil pan before checking engine oil level.
The proper fill level is between the "Max" and "Min" marks on the dipstick. If oil level is below "Min" mark or not showing on the dipstick, add oil.
Caution:
Do not exceed the "Max" marking.
Excess oil may be drawn in through the crankcase breather and into the exhaust system. The oil could cause damage to the catalytic converter.
Engine Oil Capacity:
- With filter change 5.2 qt. (5.0L)
- Without filter change 4.7 qt. (4.5L)
