Subject: Exhaust Leaks


Model(s): 100 V6 All M.Y. 1992


Check/inspect for condition(s) described in this Bulletin when performing the Initial Delivery Inspection. When necessary perform corrective action(s) as outlined to delivering to the customer.


Condition:

Exhaust leak(s) around one or both of the connecting sleeves between the catalytic converters and the main muffler.

Cause:

"C" type clamps may cause deformation of the exhaust pipe.


Service:





Remove the deformed clamps and sleeves A and B.

Inspect the exhaust pipes and if necessary, reshape the pipe(s) using a internal pipe exgander.

Replace the clamps and sleeves with P/N 191 253 141M.

Torque the retaining nuts to 32 N-m which will fully contract the sleeves.
