^ Clamp final drive in repair stand

1 Socket-head screw
- Tighten to: 10 Nm (7 ft lb) and a further 90°
2 Flanged shaft
3 Oil seal
- Pry out
- Drive in as far as stop with 2062
4 Oil filler plug
- Tighten to: 25 Nm (18 ft lb)
5 Final drive housings
- If these parts are replaced, adjustments are required. Adjustments
- With drive pinion
- Disassembling and assembling drive pinion, refer to Rear Drive Pinion.
6 Oil drain plug
- Tighten to: 25 Nm (18 ft lb)
7 Breather
- Installation depth, refer to Fig. 1, below.
8 Shim S1
- Note thickness
- List of adjustments, refer to Final Drive Assembly. Adjustments
9 Tapered roller bearing outer race
- If these parts are replaced, adjustments are required. Adjustments
- Removing and installing, refer to Rear Drive Pinion
10 Differential
- Disassembling and assembling, refer to Rear Drive Pinion
11 Tapered roller bearing outer racer
- If these parts are replaced, adjustments are required. Adjustments
- Removing and installing, refer to Rear Drive Pinion
12 Shim S2 Note thickness
- List of adjustments, refer to Final Drive Assembly. Adjustments
13 Final drive cover
- If these parts are replaced, adjustments are required. Adjustments
- Seal with suitable sealer
- Installation position: magnet faces down
14 Socket-head screws,
- Tighten to: 25 Nm (18 ft lb)
15 Clutch body for differential lock
- Installation position, refer to Fig. 3, below.
16 Magnet
- Installation position, refer to Fig. 2, below.
17 Oil seal
- Removing and installing, refer to Driveshaft (Input) Flanged Shaft, Seal and/or Bearing.
18 Shim for flanged shaft
- Note thickness
- List of adjustments, refer to Final Drive Assembly. Adjustments
19 Flanged shaft
- Adjusting, refer to Flanged Shaft. Adjustments
20 Socket-head screw
- Tighten to: 10 Nm (7 ft lb) plus additional 1/4-turn (90°)
21 Clip for magnet
- Always replace
- Installation position, refer to Fig. 2, below.
22 Shim for clutch body
- Determining thickness, refer to Fig. 4, below.
23 Sliding sleeve

- The oiling grooves (arrows) on the differential housing and on the clutch body must be aligned.

Thickness of shim required: No shim
Depth of -b-: 4.11 - 4.40 mm
Thickness of shim required: 0.3 mm
Depth of -b-: 4.41 - 4.70 mm
Thickness of shim required: 0.6 mm
Depth of -b-: 4.71 - 4.90 mm
Thickness of shim required: 0.9 mm
