Rear Window Antenna, Installing
REAR WINDOW ANTENNA, INSTALLINGNote
Vehicles without an antenna hole in the right rear side panel use a glass mounted antenna. The antenna cable is installed from the factory and is located under the rear lip of the headliner at the center of the rear window.
^ locate and pull out antenna cable connector from under rear lip of headliner
^ using cleaning pad supplied with antenna kit, clean inside and outside of rear window glass at top edge, center (directly above top AM antenna line)
^ wipe glass dry with a clean cloth
CAUTION
The coupler unit and antenna base cannot be repositioned once they have contacted the glass. Place the coupler unit and antenna base on the glass in the exact location the first time.
^ peel protective paper from adhesive on coupler unit
^ with coupler connection on driver's side, install coupler unit horizontally onto inside of glass (top, center) 10 mm (25/64 in.) above top line in rear window
^ press coupler unit firmly into place and connect antenna cable
^ tuck excess antenna cable under lip in headliner
^ peel protective paper from adhesive on antenna base
^ install antenna base onto outside of glass (top, center) directly opposite coupler unit
^ press antenna base firmly into place and install antenna mast
^ hold antenna base firmly against window with one hand and carefully bend antenna mast near base with other hand until mast is vertical
Note
Some vehicles may have the antenna cable routed across the rear of the trunk to the transceiver. This cable routing must be changed to the front of the trunk in order for the cable to reach the transceiver.
Do not coil excess coaxial antenna cable. This may result in interference and cause the phone to malfunction.
^ if necessary, remove existing antenna cable and reroute across front bottom of trunk to left inner trunk wall (transceiver mount)
