TRANSCEIVER, INSTALLING^ fold back left side of trunk carpet
^ remove four left carpet liner securing caps
^ starting in top rear corner, pull back and remove left side trunk liner
^ remove telephone harness ground wires from ground point (arrow) located in left rear of trunk
^ cut off eyelet connector and strip insulation from ends of ground wires

^ strip insulation from ends of jumper wire
^ solder one end of jumper wire to existing harness ground wires
^ insulate solder connection with electrical tape or heat shrink tubing
^ properly crimp eyelet connector (locally available) to other end of jumper wire
^ fasten jumper wire to ground point
^ using transceiver bracket as a template, mark three mounting holes (arrows) on left inner trunk wall so that bottom two mounting holes line up with center of bolt 1 and bottom of oval hole 2
CAUTION
A reinforcement panel is welded behind the trunk wall in this area. DO NOT drill on or in line with the spot welds.
^ using a 1/8 in. drill bit, drill holes at marks
^ insert mounting screw into each hole
^ turn screw until each hole is threaded, then remove screws
^ unfasten tie wraps holding telephone wiring harness
^ reposition harness so that telephone connector reaches bracket mounting location
^ leave enough slack at end of harness to fit over trunk liner
^ refasten wiring harness with tie wraps
^ place chalk or marking paint directly onto holes just drilled on left inner trunk wall
^ reinstall left side trunk liner, front edge first
^ with liner properly installed, press liner firmly over holes so that back of liner is marked
^ pull back trunk liner and cut a 13 mm (1/2 in.) diameter hole at each mark
^ reinstall trunk liner ensuring telephone harness connector, fuse connector and antenna cable connector are exposed over top of liner
^ attach two self-adhesive rubber cushions to inside corners of transceiver mounting bracket
^ attach one self-adhesive rubber cushion to flat side of transceiver housing (in the center) where transceiver meets mounting bracket
^ attach final self-adhesive rubber cushion on opposite flat side of transceiver (in the center) where transceiver meets trunk wall
^ attach multi-point connector to transceiver ensuring fuse (arrow) is exposed
^ attach antenna cable to transceiver
^ place mounting bracket over transceiver
^ mount transceiver and bracket so that connectors face forward and transceiver connector wiring points up
^ install mounting bracket securing screws and tighten
^ reinstall trunk liner securing caps
^ fold back trunk carpeting
