Headlamp: Description and Operation
Circuit Description
Each of the low beam and high beam headlights is wired directly to the fuse/relay panel. Each headlight circuit is protected by its own fuse - #8 and #9 for the high beams, #10 and #11 for the low beams.
The headlight circuits are powered only when the ignition switch is in the "On" position. Cars equipped with Auto-Check include a Front Lamp Control Unit, connected in series with the low beam headlights, that monitors bulb failures.
WARNING: The driver-side airbag is an explosive device. Before removing the steering wheel or steering column switches, always disconnect the airbag voltage supply connector, refer to "Air Bag Systems" for more information.
