Removal


Belt Removal
NOTE:
- Mark direction of travel of ribbed belt with chalk or felt pen before removing and observe when installing. Opposite direction of travel with used belt leads to its destruction.

- Numbers in ( ) refer to points in the applicable image.




- Loosen bolts (arrows), remove lock carrier plate for hood release cable.

- Do not loosen screws (2), otherwise headlights may have to be readjusted.

- Unhook and remove bowden cable.




- Relieve tension on ribbed belt by swinging tensioner in direction shown (arrow) and inserting pin 3204 into holes.

- Remove ribbed belt from tensioner pulley.




- Unscrew viscous fan (use spanner wrench 3212 to brace with fork wrench 3312).

- Lay viscous fan in fan frame.

- If necessary, unclip lower wiring loom from fan frame.

- Unscrew fan frame from radiator and pull out upward together with viscous fan, and ribbed belt.
