Starter, removing and installing

Disconnect battery ground strap






1 - terminal 30 (wiring from battery to starter and starter to alternator)
2 - terminal 50 (to ignition/starter switch)

- detach wiring






- remove starter mounting screws on engine/transmission
- remove upper bolt on starter by guiding 10 mm Allen socket with extension and flex fitting through opening on transmission housing over final drive

Note: For clarity, illustration shows transmission removed.

- remove bolt on starter and take out starter

Starter installation

- reverse of removal procedure
- torque mounting bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft lb)

Caution: It is important that all wiring be connected with proper polarity, otherwise serious engine damage could occur.
