01K 4-Speed Automatic Transmission

Model(s):
100 Front Wheel Drive from Model Year 1992

The 01K 4-speed automatic transmission has been installed as a running production change in the front wheel drive 1992 Audi 100 in place of the 097 4-speed automatic transmission used previously.

^ 01K transmission installed as of VIN: NN 094913

Note
01K and 097 transmissions are not interchangeable. When replacing a transmission, always install the same type originally installed in the vehicle.

The 01K transmission is a front wheel drive version of the 01F transmission installed in the 1992 100 CS Quattro.

Diagnostic Trouble Codes can be accessed on the VAG 1551 Scan Tool by selecting 02, transmission electronics, and then 02, checking DTC Memory.

The Diagnostic Trouble Code 00526, "Brake Light Switch -F", may be present if the brake pedal was not depressed before accessing the DTC Memory. Diagnostic Trouble Codes can be erased by selecting 05, erasing DTC Memory.

It is not possible to perform "basic setting" on the 01K transmission.

Checking ATF level

An ATF dipstick may not be installed in the 01K transmission. Use a modified V8 dipstick as described in Audi Technical Bulletin, Group 37, No. 92-06.
