Check/inspect for condition(s) described in this Bulletin when performing the Initial Delivery Inspection. When necessary perform corrective action(s) as outlined to delivery to the customer.
Condition:
Poor appearance. Uneven headlight assembly to hood positioning
Cause:
Installation and positioning not optimized
Service:
After headlights have been correctly aimed, inspect headlight assembly for proper alignment (arrow) in relation to hood and fender.
If you see misalignment such as one lens protruding beyond the rubber seals around the edges of the front hood more than the opposite headlight lens, adjust as needed. (the rubber seal should just overlap the headlight lens.)
Note
If the car is equipped with a headlight washer system, remove headlight washer telescope by removing the cover by hand. Pull the cylinder out pressure hose and removing the spray jet carefully by pulling and turning.
Use the procedure to correct headlight assembly alignment problems.
- remove screw -A- and slide the trim piece in the direction of -B- (reverse direction on left side of the vehicle).
- loosen the 4 securing screws (arrows).
- move headlight assembly (upper securing screws are slotted, lower screws when loosened will release slotted track) until headlight assembly alignment is optimized.
- tighten the 4 securing screws. Recheck the headlight aim and correct if necessary.
- reinstall the headlight trim piece(s).
- repeat this procedure on the other side.
- check the headlight aim using the mechanical procedure provided by the equipment manufacturer.
- correct headlight aim if necessary using vertical and/or horizontal adjustment screws.
