Blanking Plug, Installing

BLANKING PLUG (IN PLACE OF VACUUM PUMP), INSTALLING

- Install plug -1- with O-ring seal -2- (as shown in illustration on page 24-1) into the cylinder head where the vacuum pump used to be mounted (press in by hand)




- Screw retaining plate, sleeves and brackets for hoses into threaded holes -A-

^ Tighten to 10 Nm (7 ft lb)

- Attach fuel line and vacuum line to EVAP canister purge solenoid valve using clips -B-

Vehicles with manual transmission only:

- Remove the vacuum hose to the vacuum pump

- Press on cap -C-

- Attach vacuum hose to intake manifold

- Attach vacuum line to fuel line -D- using a tie-wrap

- Install the air silencer and connect the lines

- Replace any broken tie-wraps
