VAG 1598 Test Box, Connecting
Automatic climate controlCAUTION!
Do not connect VAG 1598 test box or any VAG 7598/adapter cable to A/C control head while using VAG 1557 scan tool
- Switch ignition OFF.
- Remove A/C control head.
- Connect VAG 1598/11 adapter cable between A/C control head connectors -A-, -B- and -C-and instrument panel wiring harness connectors -A-, -B- and -C-.
- Connect VAG 1598/12 adapter cable between A/C control head connector -D- and instrument panel wiring harness connector -D-.
NOTE: VAG 1598/11 and 1598/12 adapter cables cannot be connected simultaneously to VAG 1598 test box.
- Connect VAG 1598 test box to respective adapter cable for measurement.
VAG 1598 test box, socket numbering
CAUTION!
When using VAG 1598/11 adapter cable, VAG 1598 test box socket numbering is NOT the same as A/C control head connector numbering.
- Terminal numbering A/C control head connectors A and B does not correspond to socket numbering on VAG 1598 test box when using VAG 1598/11 adapter cable
- Terminal numbering of A/C control head connector C is identical to VAG 1598 test box socket numbering when using VAG 1598/11 adapter cable
- Terminal numbering of A/C control head connector D is identical to VAG 1598 test box socket numbering when using VAG 1598/12 adapter cable
NOTE: The following chart shows the numbering correspondence between the terminal number on the A/C control head harness connector and the number that corresponds to it on the VAG 1598 test box after VAG 1598/11 adapter cable has been connected.
