Servotronic System

Voltage Supply Check

Fig.2 Servotronic Control Unit Electrical Connector Pin Identification.:

1. Remove glove box, then dismount module bracket and remove module from bracket.
2. Disconnect electrical connector from Servotronic control unit, then turn ignition switch to On position.
3. Connect multimeter tool No. US 1119, or equivalent, set to 20 V range, between terminals 2 and 7 on Servotronic control unit connector, Fig. 2.
4. If reading is not approximately 12 V, check for open circuit in wiring and repair as necessary.

Wiring Between Servotronic Control Unit & Servotronic Valve Check

Fig.3 Connector Station One.:

Fig.2 Servotronic Control Unit Electrical Connector Pin Identification.:

1. Remove shelf and kneebar on drivers side, then remove cover of Connector Station One Fig. 3.
2. Remove glove compartment, then dismount module bracket and remove Servotronic module from bracket.
3. Disconnect electrical connector from Servotronic control unit.
4. Disconnect electrical connector (orange colored) from position nine of Connector Station One, then connect multimeter tool No. US 1119, or equivalent, between terminals 8 and 11 on Servotronic control unit connector, Fig. 2.
5. If reading is not infinite ohms, check for short circuit in wiring and repair as necessary.
6. If reading is infinite ohms, leave multimeter connected and using a suitable jumper wire, bridge terminals five and six on Connector Station One.
7. If reading is not approximately 0 ohms, check for open circuit in wiring and repair as necessary.
8. Disconnect connector from Servotronic Solenoid Valve on steering gear, then using suitable connector leads connect multimeter tool No. US 1119, or equivalent, to connector.
9. If reading is not infinite ohms, check for short circuit in wiring and repair as necessary.
10. If reading is infinite ohms, leave multimeter connected and using a suitable jumper wire, bridge terminals five and six on connector nine (orange colored) previously removed from Connector Station One.
11. If reading is not approximately 0 ohms, check for open circuit in wiring and repair as necessary.
12. Connect wiring and install removed components as necessary.
