Input Shaft Adjusting

- Clamp input shaft in vice using protective jaws.
- Fit special tool 3167 (-A-) onto 3rd gear and mount transmission housing up over input shaft onto special tool.






- Place depth gauge on transmission housing and measure to lower groove of input shaft.

Dimension -a- = 28.5 mm (1.122 in.)






- Place depth gauge on transmission housing and measure to ball bearing contact surface.

Dimension -b- = 26.8 mm (1.055 in.)

- Determine thickness x of bottom circlip:
x = a-b

Example:
x = 28.5 mm-26.8 mm
x = 1.70 mm





- Determine thickness of circlip from table.
- Knock circlip and ball bearing on to input shaft with press tube 30-100.






- Determine the thickest circlip that can just be inserted.
