Front Door Panel: Service and Repair
Front door trim panel, removing and installing1 - Sheet-metal screw
^ 1.5 Nm (13 in. lb)
2 - Rear filler piece (installed)
^ Pull/cut filler piece from frame => Fig. 4
3 - Lock knob
^ Removal not necessary to remove door trim panel
^ To remove, turn approx. 180° to left and pull off
^ Installing: push down and turn approx. 180° to right. Lock knob should project 16 mm (5/8 in.) above guide ring
4 - Inside door release mechanism
^ Push in direction of arrow and pull out of trim panel
^ Disconnecting cable => Fig. 1
5 - Height adjustment clip
^ With height adjusting screw
^ Adjusting height of door trim panel => Fig. 2
6 - Trim plate
^ Removal not necessary to remove door trim panel
7 - Packing for retaining hooks

^ Lift out and disconnect harness connectors for power window regulator and mirror adjusting mechanism

- Adjust height parallel to outside window channel strip -2-. Basic dimension -a-: 21 mm (13/32 in.)
- Attach trim panel and check adjustment.
- If necessary, correct height using adjustment screws.

- Bond filler piece using adhesive, Part No. D 001 300.

Fig. 6 - Removing armrest (lower part)
- Remove screw from armrest lower part -2-. Screw attaches lower part -2-to upper part -1-.
- Pull out armrest lower part toward rear.

Follow steps in sequence.
- Remove screws for armrest upper part -1-.
- Slightly lift armrest upper part at lower end and press toward rear (arrow -A-).
- Press down armrest upper part at bend (arrow -B-) and pull out of door trim panel at upper end (arrow -C-).
- If necessary, wrap contact surfaces of plastic wedge with tape and pry out using plastic wedge.
- Starting with upper end, pull armrest upper part upward completely out of door trim panel.
- Disconnect harness connectors for mirror adjustment switch and power window switches.
- Install in reverse order of removal.
