Pressure Switches

HIGH PRESSURE SWITCH - F 118




Switch identification: red housing with bonded wire connections

- remove electrical connector and unscrew high pressure switch

^ refrigerant system remains closed (Schrader valve under switch)

- install new O-ring seal -A- (7.6 mm x 1.8 mm), lubricate with refrigerant oil and ensure proper seating in groove

- torque switch to 5 Nm (44 in.lb)

HIGH PRESSURE SWITCH - F 23




Switch identification: green housing with bonded wire connections

- remove electrical connector and unscrew high pressure switch

^ refrigerant system remains closed (Schrader valve under switch)

- install new 0-ring seal -A- (7.6 mm x 1 mm), lubricate with refrigerant oil and ensure proper seating in groove

- torque switch to 5 Nm (44 in.lb)


LOW PRESSURE SWITCH




Switch located on passenger side (interior) between heater housing and firewall

- remove passenger's side lower instrument panel cover

- remove Engine Control Module (ECM) -A- in direction of -arrow-, see Fuel and Ignition

- remove electrical connector from low pressure switch

- using a 17 mm open end wrench approx 80 mm (3.1 in.) long, remove low pressure switch

^ refrigerant system remains closed (Schrader valve under switch)





Note
Illustration shows low pressure switch with heater housing removed.

- install new 0-ring seal -A- (8.9 mm x 1.8 mm), lubricate with refrigerant oil and ensure proper seating in groove

- torque switch to 5 Nm (44 in.lb)

- reinstall ECM and passenger's side lower instrument panel cover
