Pressure and Temperature Dependance
The pressures and temperatures in the A/C system will vary depending on engine speed (RPM), coolant fan speed, engine temperature, whether A/C clutch is engaged or not, outside temperature, humidity, etc. The pressure and temperature specifications (See below) are based on the following:- Engine running for approx. 20 minutes
- Engine speed (RPM) 1500-2000
- Outside (ambient) temperature 68 °F (20 °C)
NOTE: At a temperature of 68 °F (20 ° C), the A/C system base pressure is approx. 68 psi (4.7 bar).
NOTE: Small arrows indicate direction of refrigerant flow
1 - Compressor, high pressure side
2 - Condenser
3 - Restrictor
4 - Evaporator
5 - Accumulator
6 - Compressor, low pressure side
The low pressure is maintained in the refrigerant system by the variable displacement compressor throughout changing conditions and varying engine speeds (RPM).
