Infra-red central locking system, component location
Checking for leaks
Note
If the pump in control module - 8 - (V94) runs longer than 3 to 7 seconds without operating the central locking system, the system is leaking air.
Using the illustration showing the location of components:
- working systematically from control module -8- (V94) disconnect hoses from T-connector -1- and plug the branches of the connector to establish which part of the system is leaking.
- when you have traced the leak to one part of the system, proceed systematically in the same way to determine which unit or activator or which hose or connection in which door (or trunk lid) is leaking.
Note
Beginning with model year 1993, cars are equipped with rear seat backrest locking.
- to check for leaks lock car or rear lid.
^ rear seat backrest should not fold over.
