The Following information will be added to Repair Group 37, of Repair Manuals, Audi 90 from 1993 Automatic Transmission 097, and Audi 100 from 1992 Automatic Transmission 097, at the next printing.
OIL COOLER AND ATF LINES, CLEANING
Before installing a transmission, always blow compressed air through the oil cooler and ATF lines, as follows:
- Disconnect ATF lines -1- and -2-.
- Install a length of hose approximately 18 mm (3/4 in.) inside diameter on line -1-.
- Secure hose with hose clamp.
- Position other end of hose in a suitable container.
Warning
Wear eye protection
- Using compressed air, apply air pressure into transmission cooler line -2- until no more oil is expelled from the hose.
Note
Air pressure must not be higher than 10 bar (145 psi).
- Reposition hose on line -2-, secure hose and repeat procedure, blowing air into line -1-.
AFTER CLEANING PROCEDURE:
- Reinstall lines and torque to 25 Nm. (18 ft lb).
