Power steering high pressure hose, replacing 90/90 Quattro from 1993 m.y.

Condition

This Technical Bulletin is issued to clarify the repair procedure required when replacing the power steering high pressure hose -arrow- on all 90 models (from m.y. 1993).





Use the following recommended procedure when replacing a power steering high pressure hose.

Service

- Remove driver's side lower instrument panel cover

- Remove clip and clevis pin from brake pedal rod

- Remove nuts securing brake booster

- Remove engine cover and air intake hose

- Move brake booster far enough to allow access to steering hose banjo bolt.


Note
^ The brake booster does not have to be removed completely.

^ Access to the steering gear is easier from the underside of the engine when removing/installing the banjo bolt and hose.

- Remove lower engine pan

- Remove steering hose banjo bolt at steering gear

- Disconnect hose at pump connection and remove

- Install in reverse order.

- After installation, run engine and top off hydraulic fluid.
