Electrical Troubleshooting

Central locking system and/or alarm system and/or interior light delay, do not work

Test requirements

- Battery OK
- Fuses S8 and S10 OK
- Circuit breaker A2 (on auxiliary relay panel 1) OK
- Use digital multimeter (Fluke 83 or equivalent) for all electrical tests
- Always refer to appropriate wiring diagram when troubleshooting
If all specified values are obtained during troubleshooting:
- Replace central locking/alarm system/interior light delay control module -V94-.





- Obtain radio security code.
- Remove rear seat bench.
- Disconnect and remove battery.
- Remove central locking/alarm system/interior light delay control module -V94- from insulation
- Install and reconnect battery.
- Remove 6-point connector (voltage supply, B+) from central locking/alarm system/interior light delay control module -V94-.


NOTE: In order to prevent possible malfunctions, always connect the 6-point connector (voltage supply, B+) to central locking/alarm system/interior light delay control module -V94- last.


- Code radio after tests are complete.
- Perform following tests on removed 6-point connector.

- Reconnect 6-point connector to central locking/alarm system/interior light delay control module -V94-.
- Connect adapter harness VAG 1598/11 to 12-point and 16-point control module connectors.
- Connect adapter harness to VAG 1598 test box.
