Bleeding Clutch Hydraulic System

Clutch hydraulic system, bleeding

The clutch hydraulic system must be bled after any repair work on the hydraulic clutch.

CAUTION: Top up brake fluid reservoir to the -max- marking before bleeding the clutch hydraullc system.

- Bleed clutch hydraulic system only using a brake bleeder. Max. operating pressure: 2.5 bar (36 psi)






- Use the bleeder hose VAG 1238 B3 for bleeding.
VAG 1238 B3: 670 mm (26-3/8 in) long
- Connect bleeder hose to pressure hose of brake bleeder bottle -A-.






- Position open-end wrench and hose VAG 1238 B3 on bleeder valve and open valve.

CAUTION: Make sure the bleeder hose is correctly positioned during the bleeding operation.

- After bleeding operation is complete, depress clutch pedal several times.
