[01] -- Install cylinder head bolts in sequence shown.

Fig. 9 Cylinder Head Bolt Tightening Sequence:

Using sequence shown in Fig. 9, torque cylinder head bolts in three steps; first step to 30 ft lb, second step to 44 ft lb, third step an additional 1/2 turn.

[02] -- Coat threads w/sealing compound AMV 188 001 02, or equivalent.
[03] -- Plus an additional 1/4 (90deg.) turn.
[04] -- Coat threads w/locking compound D 000 600, or equivalent.
[05] -- Torque bolts in sequence in two steps: 11 ft. lbs., then 18 ft. lbs.
[06] -- When tool No. 2079, or equivalent, is used for vibration dampner, torque is 258 ft. lbs.
[07] -- Refer to Camshaft, Replace for tightening procedure.
