Distributor Cap: Testing and Inspection
1. Visually inspect distributor cap for:^ Cracks or other damage
^ Carbon tracks between electrodes
^ Worn center electrode carbon brush
^ Heavy corrosion or deposits on outer electrodes
^ Signs of arcing.
Replace cap if any of these conditions exist.
2. Check for continuity between the inside electrodes and the respective spark plug wire terminals on the outside of the cap. Replace cap if any terminal is not connected to its inner electrode.
