Pump Pressure Check
1. Remove air duct tube bolt, then install hose clamp 3094 or equivalent on return hose and carefully close Off line. If hose clamp 3094 is not available, use suitable clamping pliers.2. Disconnect expansion hose from pump, then guide expansion hose upward so that no fluid escapes.
3. Remove 12 mm diameter copper sealing ring from banjo bolt and install onto adaptor VAG 1441/1 or equivalent.
4. Thread adaptor into pump, then install 12 mm copper sealing ring to banjo bolt and insert banjo bolt into ring nipple of pressure gauge VAG 1441 or equivalent.
5. Install 10 mm copper sealing ring to banjo bolt and pressure gauge ring nipple, then connect to adaptor.
6. Remove hose clamp from return hose.
7. Start engine, at idle, read pump pressure at pressure gauge, then turn Off engine. Do not take longer than 20 seconds to take measurement, or damage may occur.
8. If pressure is not within specifications, replace power steering pump.
