Control Arm: Service and Repair

1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheels.
2. Remove fasteners securing guide for wheel speed sensor wiring, then the guide.
3. Remove lower bolt from strut, then disconnect spring from brake pressure regulator.
4. Remove trapezoidal arm mounting bolts from support and wheel bearing housing.
5. Remove pivot mount bolt from wheel bearing housing.
6. On V8 models, loosen right bracket for fuel tank cover, twist bracket until bolt for arm can be removed.
7. Remove trapezoidal arm from crossmember, then the trapezoidal arm.
8. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Apply locking compound to wheel bearing housing to trapezoidal arm securing bolts.
b. Tighten nuts and bolts to specifications.
