Beginning with model year 1993 the electrical circuit for heated outside mirrors was changed.

- Connector pin 6 is not changed.
- Connector pin 3 is new and used for heated mirrors. The pin is protected by an internal fuse rated up to 10 Amp. The internal fuse cannot be replaced.





Rear window defogger/heated outside mirror switch, checking

The heated rear window and heated mirrors are controlled electronically. The electronics are activated by pressing the switch and heat the rear window for about 10 min. via pin -6- and the mirrors via pin -3-.

- remove rear window defogger/heated outside mirror switch.
- press switch ON.
- connect multimeter Fluke 83 between pins -6- and -3- of switch.
^ must be approx. 0.5 ohms

If NO,
^ internal fuse blown.
- replace switch.
