Display Group 012

^ The display groups 011 through 019 apply to driveability troubleshooting (idle problems and/or loss of power) and special component malfunctions.

Display Group 012 Overview:

Notes on display field 3:

The ignition timing map switching is selected by the knock regulation:

^ 1st map = ignition timing point - basic map

^ 2nd map = ignition timing point - map with reduced ignition angles
Ignition timing map 2 (2nd map) is selected:

^ With poor fuel quality (less than 95 RON octane)

^ With abnormal engine noises (attached components loose)

^ With engine damage (oil consumption because of damaged pistons/rings).

^ If a Knock Sensor (KS) malfunction is recognized by the ECM, ignition map switching is blocked.

^ If ignition timing map 2 is selected see display groups 013 and/or 014 for a more precise evaluation.

Notes on display field 4:

^ Knock regulation begins with engine load greater than 40% see display groups 013 and/or 014.

^ Ignition timing point retarding values are used only when knock regulation is "active."
