Removing Bushing For 3rd And 4th Shift Lever Rod From Transmission Cover
- Use special tool VW771 and internal extractor -A-, e.g. Kukko 21/3 18-23.5 mm






Installation Position Of Seal For Inner Shift Rod
- Dimension -a- = 1 mm (0.04 in.)






Removing And Installing Shift Fork Bushing






Removing And Installing Oil Retainer
Removing
- Turn oil retainer (arrow) and withdraw.

Installing
- Push oil retainer into transmission cover far enough so that oil retainer detent engages in hole in transmission cover. Retainer faces up in cover.






Removing Needle Bearing For Input Shaft
- Use special tool VW 771 and internal extractor -A-, e.g. Kukko 21/4 22-28 mm.

Note: Destroy the plastic sleeve before installing the puller.






Installation Position Of Needle Bearing For Input Shaft
- Dimension -a- = 216 mm (8.5 in.)
