Trip Computer, Range Calibration

Set range calibration ONLY after replacing the trip computer (printed circuit).


NOTE: The trip computer calculates fuel consumption based on 10 litres/100 km regardless if the computer display is in US or metric measurement units.






- Switch ignition OFF.
- Remove connector (arrow) from fuel level sensor.





- Using jumper wires, connect tester VW 1301 to fuel level sensor connector as shown.
- Set tester VW 1301 to 250.
- Press and hold RESET button.
- Switch ignition ON.
- Release RESET button.
- Display must read approximately 80





If NOT:
- Adjust range calibration as follows:


CAUTION!
Range calibration screw can only be turned 1/2-turn between stops.


- Remove instrument cluster trim.





- Insert a small flat blade screwdriver (100 mm long, 2 mm blade diameter) and turn adjusting screw -A-.
- Recheck range calibration.
