Checking wiring between knock sensors and ECM





Terminal assignments inside connector:

1.- Ground (GND)

2.- Signal wire

3.- Shield

Knock Sensor 1 -G61-

- Check ground wire continuity of knock sensor 1 -G61 - between terminal 1 of connector in engine compartment and test box socket A14.

^ Specification: maximum 1 Ohm

- Check signal wire continuity of knock sensor 1 -G61- between terminal 2 of connector in engine compartment and test box socket A13.

^ Specification: maximum 1 Ohm

- Check shield continuity of knock sensor 1 -G61- between terminal 3 of connector in engine compartment and Ground.

^ Specification: maximum 1 Ohm

Knock Sensor 2 -G66-





- Check ground wire continuity of knock sensor 1 -G66- between terminal 1 of connector in engine compartment and test box socket A14.

^ Specification: maximum 1 Ohm

- Check signal wire continuity of knock sensor 2 -G66- between terminal 2 of connector in engine compartment and test box socket A15.

^ Specification: maximum 1 Ohm

- Check shield continuity of knock sensor 1 -G61 - between terminal 3 of connector in engine compartment and Ground.

^ Specification: maximum 1 Ohm

If specified values are not obtained:

- Repair open or short circuit in wiring as necessary.





Knock sensor 1 (bank 1):

Knock sensor ECM connector A or
terminal number engine ground (GND)

1 Ground A14
2 Signal A13
3 Shield GND

^ Knock sensor 2 (bank 2):

Knock sensor ECM connector A or
terminal number engine ground (GND)

1 Ground A14
2 Signal A15
3 Shield GND
