The following will be added to the Audi 100 Quattro Repair Manual, Automatic Transmission 01F, at the next reprinting.

OIL COOLER AND ATF LINES, CLEANING

Note
Before installing a transmission, always blow compressed air through the oil cooler and the ATF lines, as follows:




- install a length of hose (diameter=approx. 18 mm) onto line A, at arrow 2

^ secure with hose clamp

- position other end of hose in suitable container

WARNING
Wear eye protection.

- using pressurized air pistol, blow continuous blast of air into line B, at arrow 1

^ pressure must NOT exceed 10 bar (145 p.s.i.)

- stop delivery of air when no further oil is expelled from hose

- reposition hose extension onto line B at arrow 1, secure, and repeat procedure

Note
After cleaning procedure:

- replace 0-ring

- observe specified tightening torques
