Front Door Panel: Service and Repair
Front door trim panel, assembly1 - Console
^ Removing => Fig. 6
2 - Screw
3 - Console for seat memory control
To remove:
- Remove screw -2-
- Push bracket downward and remove from top
- Disconnect harness connectors
4 - Door armrest cover

5 - Screw
^ 2.5 Nm (27 in lb)
6 - Door armrest
7 - Trim plate
^ Press off in driving direction
^ Pull out of door trim panel
8 - Switch
9 - Inner door lock mechanism
^ Push off in driving direction
^ Pull out of door trim panel
^ Unhook cable => Fig. 2
10 - Screw
^ 1.5 Nm (18 in lb)
11 - Filler piece
^ Remove from frame
^ Installing => Fig. 3
12 - Trim panel
^ Unhook trim panel upwards
^ Number and position of retaining hooks => Fig. 4
13 - Adjusting clip
^ All adjusters must have same height to outside window slot seal
14 - Locking button
^ Removal not necessary to remove trim panel
^ Removing and installing => Fig. 5
15 - Plugs
16 - Insulation
^ To remove, unclip plugs -15- from door component carrier
17 - Base for hooks
^ Insert
^ Apply glue to hold in place

- Using flat screwdriver, pry off armrest handle cover.
Fig. 2 - Unhooking cable
- Pry off clip.
- Unhook cable.
Note: Ensure proper direction when hooking cable.

Diagram shows rear filler piece (front is mirror image).
CAUTION! Part numbers are listed for reference only. Always consult with the parts department for latest information.
- Filler piece -1- is inserted into door trim panel -2-.
- Bond to frame with adhesive part no. D 001 300.

Installing
- Lower end of knurling -1- must extend 2.0 mm (0.08 in.) above guide -2- with locking button pushed down
Removing
- Rotate locking knob approximately 180° to left and pull off.

- Push retaining clips of console in driving direction with flat screwdriver.
- Lift up console.
- Unplug connectors.
