Door lock, assembly1 - Locking rod
^ Removing, unclip at lock
2 - Locking rod for lock cylinder

^ To remove, twist toward rear (opposite driving direction)

8 - Release mechanism clip
^ Unhook lock operating rod/locking rod for lock cylinder by sliding sleeve downward
9 - Door lock
^ Removing:
- Remove front door trim panel. Service and Repair
- Remove door component carrier. Service and Repair
- Unhook locking rod, lock operating rod and locking rod for lock cylinder
- Unscrew screws -11-
- On vehicles with central door locking, pull connecting hose off door activator
- Unhook Bowden cable for remote control => Fig. 2 (below)

11 - Screw
^ 8.0 Nm (71 in lb)
12 - Lock packing plate
13 - Socket-head screw
^ 16 Nm (12 ft lb)

- Clip joint bushing -2- into actuating lever -1-.
- Insert lock cylinder locking rod -3- into joint bushing -2- and clip in.
- Turn release mechanism clip -4- 90°, insert into actuating lever for door lock -5- and turn upward again.
- Clip lock cylinder locking rod -3- free of play into clip -4- without tensioning actuating lever for door lock -5-, max. play 1.0 mm (0.039 in.).
- Slide sleeve on clip -4- upward.

Removing
- Remove door trim panel. Service and Repair
- Remove door component carrier.
- Remove door lock.
- Unhook hook -3- from actuating lever -4-.
- Turn end piece of Bowden cable 900 (tab -2- unhooks) and remove downward from bracket -1-.
Installing
- Install all components in reverse order of removal, noting the following:
