Vacuum System Troubleshooting
Central locking system motor runs, door locks do not operateNOTE: If the central locking system motor runs longer than 7 seconds without the door locks operating, there is a vacuum leak in the central locking system. The central locking system motor will shut off automatically after approximately 30 seconds.
- Disconnect one hose connection from vacuum hose junction.
- Plug open connection on junction.
- Operate central locking system motor (with key in driver's door lock).
If central locking system operates normally, problem is in portion of vacuum circuit just disconnected.
- Continue disconnecting and plugging connections on junction one at a time until leaking portion of vacuum circuit is determined.
Once leaking portion of vacuum circuit is determined:
- Use same principle to determine which component, hose or connection is leaking.
- Check each vacuum hose and connection until leak is found, repair/replace components, vacuum hoses or connections as necessary.
