CONDITION




A loose ground wire at the left tail light (arrow) may cause the fuel gauge to be inaccurate (with engine running) due to the amperage draw of the fuel pump.

Note
The fuel gauge may read correctly with the engine off and the key in the on position.

SERVICE

Check the ground wire at the left tail light for the following:

^ Tightness of the connection.
^ Corrosion on the connection.
^ Proper crimp of the wire to the connector.

- Feed belt through opening in cover.
- Insert cover with button onto tab, press cover against B-pillar and push up.
- After installing cover, check height adjustment for proper functioning.
