On-Board Diagnostics Check

NOTE: On-Board Diagnostics Check is performed using Read Measuring Value Block, Function 08.

DIAGNOSIS CONDITIONS FOR FLOW TESTING (DISPLAY GROUP 020):
- Engine coolant temperature from 0°-55°C (32-131°F) at engine start.
- No malfunctions stored in DTC memory.
- Engine operation within a defined RPM/load window with oxygen sensors active for longer than 12 seconds.
- Altitude display less than 40 (see display group 001, display field 3).

NOTE: Secondary air injection and thus secondary air injection system diagnosis is interrupted as soon as:
^ Engine speed exceeds 3700 RPM or
^ Engine load is greater than 70.4% or
^ Acceleration enrichment is active for longer than 5 seconds.

The values must be displayed using "Read Measuring Value Block" function O8 after the secondary air injection pump is switched OFF (see explanation of display field 4 for display group 020) and before the engine is shut OFF.

DIAGNOSTIC CONDITIONS FOR LEAK TESTING (DISPLAY GROUP 021):
- No malfunctions stored in DTC memory
- Secondary air injection system testing ended
- Engine coolant temperature greater than 70°C (158°F)
- Vehicle speed less than 4 mph
- Closed throttle position switch closed
- Altitude display less than 40 (see display group 001, display field 3)

NOTE: If these conditions exist for longer than 2 seconds, the secondary air injection pump is triggered for 10 seconds after a short time delay (the secondary air injection solenoid valve remains closed) and the leak test is carried out.
