Reading Memory - Trouble Codes

AIRBAG II DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) MEMORY, READING

Includes vehicles equipped with only a driver's airbag and vehicles equipped with a driver's and front passenger's airbag.

Test conditions:

^ fuses 512 and 521 OK
^ VAG 1551 Scan Tool connected, see page 01-3
^ switch ignition ON

Note:

^ Sporadic malfunctions are shown on the right side of the VAG 1551 display with a "/SP". To exclude sporadically occuring malfunctions, erase the DTC memory before performing repairs.

^ To advance through the program sequence, press the -> button

^ For a complete printout of functions, press PRINT button (LED in print button lights up)

^ Mode 1 "Rapid data transfer" is initiated with address word "15"

^ To conduct an automatic test sequence, input address word "00"and acknowledged with the "O" button. The DTC memory will be activated in all systems with rapid data transfer.
