[1] 5th digit of Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). VIN plate mounted atop drivers side instrument panel, visible through windshield lower left corner.
[2] Engine code stamped on right side of engine block between the cylinder head and hydraulic pump.
[3] SOHC 12-valve (2 valves per cyl.), 172 HP.
[4] MPI MMS version 300 with OBD. System uses single control module for both fuel and ignition control. MMS 300 is fully adaptive and has no CO% potentiometer on the Mass Air Flow Sensor. It is possible that some early 1993 model cars have MPI MMS 200 with a CO% Potentiometer and use ECM # 8A0 906 266A, this system is covered fully under the 1992 Audi 100 information.
[5] Fuel System uses 4-hole single-spray solenoid-type injectors, dual oxygen sensor feedback, start and idle speed control, after start and acceleration enrichment, deceleration fuel shut-off.
[6] Transistorized Distributorless Ignition System, Coils controlled by Power Stages, Hall sender and cylinder selective Knock Control.
