Test Requirements

Requirements Prior To Performing Tests
1. Specified tire size;
- Same size on all four wheels
- Tires inflated to correct pressures
2. Conventional brake system functioning properly
- Including brake light switch and brake lights
3. No leaks from hydraulic connections or lines
- Visually inspect ABS hydraulic unit, brake calipers, etc.
4. Wheel bearings and wheel bearing play OK
5. Ground connection for ABS return flow pump (on ABS hydraulic unit) OK
6. ABS return flow pump relay and ABS solenoid valve relay correctly connected
7. Harness connector for ABS control module correctly connected
- Positive engagement, with lock
8. When using VAG1551 scan tool or VAG1598test box, the test box must not be connected to the ABS control module.
9. All fuses OK
10. Battery positive voltage (B+) OK (at least 10.5 V)
