- Switch ignition off.
- Check white DLC wire connection for short circuit to positive (B+) or Ground (GND):

NOTES:
- The wire connection from the white DLC (terminal 2) is routed via the K wire distributor to control module -J256-. All other vehicle systems having "Rapid data transfer" OBD are also connected via wire distributor K.
- For wire colors and other vehicle systems connected to the white DLC See appropriate wiring diagram.
- Determine color of wires between white DLC connector terminal 2 and control module -J256- per wiring diagram.

- Disconnect wire terminals for other systems with "rapid data transfer" OBD from wire distributor K one at a time.
- Each time wire connection to vehicle system has been disconnected, switch ignition on and insert address word -26-, "Automatic Roof Control", function 26. Refer to "DTC Memory, Checking, Erasing and Ending Output". Testing and Inspection

If the control module identification is now displayed:
- Check wiring to last control module disconnected for open or short circuits per wiring diagram and repair as necessary.

If wiring checks OK:
- Replace control module last disconnected and reconnect all wire terminals to wire distributor K.

NOTE: If "Control module does not answer" is indicated on the display, the wire connection to the convertible top control module -J256- is interrupted (open).
