Speed Sensor and Restrictor - Removing/ Installing

A/C COMPRESSOR SENSOR (G 111) AND RESTRICTOR, REMOVING/INSTALLING

A/C compressor speed sensor (G 111), removing/installing

- discharge A/C refrigerant system, see page 87-47

- separate speed sensor connector




- remove screws -B-

- remove sensor -A-

- install in reverse order of removal noting the following:

- with sensor removed, inspect teeth on sensor wheel inside compressor for damage (four teeth around entire circumference)

- replace 0-ring seal -C

^ 0-ring seal: 15.5 mm inside diameter, 1.5 mm thickness

- torque screws -B- to 5 Nm (44 in. lb)


RESTRICTOR, REMOVING/INSTALLING

- discharge A/C refrigerant system, see page 87-47

- remove evaporator inlet (high pressure) line

- using long nose pliers, remove restrictor from evaporator inlet

- install in reverse order of removal noting the following:




- replace 0-ring seal -A-

^ 0-ring seal: 7.5 mm inside diameter, 1.5 mm thickness

- insert restrictor into evaporator inlet so that arrow restrictor points towards evaporator

- push restrictor into inlet until fully seated

Note
Restrictor must fit tight in inlet.
